April 3, 2024
We, Raymond and Jane Blackwell, want to express our profound gratitude and admiration for Dr. Edgerton's exceptional care and expertise throughout Raymond's medical journey. Raymond initially came to Rutherford Regional Medical Facility from Willow Ridge Rehab Facility due to health concerns, where it was discovered, he was anemic. Dr. Edgerton, whom we had the privilege of knowing from a previous procedure, became Raymond's doctor.
Dr. Edgerton's attentiveness and honesty were evident from the start. When Raymond required an amputation on his leg, Dr. Edgerton guided us through the process with compassion and clarity, despite the challenging circumstances surrounding the surgery coinciding with Jane's birthday in September.
Following the amputation, Dr. Edgerton's proactive approach led to the discovery of lymph nodes in Raymond's colon which he recognized a colonoscopy would be needed. Recognizing the potential risks, Dr. Edgerton wasted no time in recommending surgery to remove the tumor, ensuring it didn't spread further. His transparent communication and genuine concern for Raymond's well-being eased our fears during this uncertain time.
Throughout the procedure, Dr. Edgerton's professionalism and dedication shone brightly. He kept us informed every step of the way, never leaving room for confusion or doubt. Despite the potential for cancer, Dr. Edgerton's expertise and decisive action resulted in a successful surgery, eliminating the need for chemotherapy.
The morning after surgery, Raymond's triumphant fist pump spoke volumes about Dr. Edgerton's skill and the positive outcome. We prayed through our worries and grasped at the hope that God instilled within us all during this trying time. We're thankful for Dr. Edgerton emphasis on instilling confidence within his patients, this is a direct reflection of what we all got a hands-on experience of his humility and dedication to his craft.
