Hospital Quality Initiative (HQI)

Rutherford Regional Medical Center is dedicated to providing quality healthcare to our community.   A new source of hospital quality information for patients (consumers) is the CMS website for the National Voluntary Hospital Reporting Initiative (HQI).

CMS is the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the federal agency responsible for administering the Medicare, Medicaid, State Children's Health Insurance, (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) and several other health-related programs.

The Hospital Quality Initiative (HQI) goals created by CMS are to improve the care provided by the nation's hospitals and to provide quality information to consumers and others.

Rutherford Regional chose to voluntarily provide data for this initiative so consumers would have information about the quality of care delivered at our hospital.  We are dedicated to make more and better information available to our patients and consumers about the quality of hospital care.

With this data, you will be able to research and compare for three common medical conditions - heart attack, heart failure and pneumonia.
